Our environmental policy
Our environmental policy determines the action principles for the protection of the environment that we, in the HARTING Technology Group, follow during our functions. This is defined by Top Management and generally binding for all functions and in all locations of the HARTING Technology Group worldwide.
We understand that the countryside, the community, the economy and each individual company is a part of the global ecological system whose equilibrium and biodiversity is decisive for the survival of all life. And we recognize, as a commercial enterprise, our particular responsibility: the conservation of natural living conditions.
We are convinced that careful handling of the free resources of water, air, the ground, as well as flora and fauna must be ensured with market efficient instruments and that, with a mutual effort, continuous improvements can be achieved.
We envisage great corporate chances in an environmental-oriented, free economic order that will safeguard the well-being of future generations.

As a global operating company, we can only exist in a sustainable manner if we follow the goal to develop economically, ecologically and socially.
With this awareness we are committed to act according to the following principles:
- HARTING regards the safety and the protection of people and the environment as a concern of fundamental importance. Corporate Management will monitor these environmental policies regularly for new demands and create the process for an effective implementation into company practice and allocate the necessary means.
- HARTING encourages a personal sense of responsibility and focuses their view on possible environmental pollution through corporate functions and our products.
- HARTING promotes and honours employee collaboration when improving the HARTING Group’s environmental performance through the equal evaluation of all improvement suggestions within the framework of HARTING’S Ideas Management.
- HARTING continuously reduces the dangers and risks to its employees, neighbours, customers and users with manufacture, distribution, use, application and its product disposal. Even during the development of new products and product processes, safety, health and environmental aspects are taken into consideration.
- HARTING takes all public questions and concerns regarding product and corporate activities seriously and acts constructively.
- HARTING actively informs the public about the effect they have on the environment and about their generated environmental performance.
- HARTING informs it’s customers about the safe application, use and disposal of it’s products. We work continuously on increasing our knowledge regarding the possible impact of products, product processes and their environmental aspect on people and the environment.
- HARTING commits the companies that work on behalf of the HARTING Technology Group to adhere to the safety, health and environmental standards.
- HARTING deals carefully and conscientiously with resources.
- HARTING understands the respective national, legal and regulative terms as a minimum requirement and the entire HARTING Technology Group aspires to a higher degree of safety, health and environmental protection.
- HARTING allows it’s Environmental Management and it’s environmental performance to be continuously verified by independent environmental experts.
